Nick Foles To Start, Justin Fields Questionable As Backup
3 years agoChicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy said that quarterback Nick Foles will start on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, and it will be a game-time decision as to whether rookie Justin Fields (ankle) will serve as Foles' backup in Week 16. The writing was on the wall for Fields to potentially miss this week's game after he was downgraded to no practice on Thursday. Fantasy managers that have been running with the dual-threat 22-year-old QB will need to find another option this weekend. It continues an up-and-down rookie season (mostly down) for the first-round selection. Foles hasn't played at all this year and hasn't started a game since 2020, going 202-for-312 for 1,852 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions in nine games (seven starts). Seattle's defense allows the most passing yards per game (273.9), but Foles will merely be a desperation QB2 in superflex leagues in Chicago's ugly offense.
