Nick Gordon Avoids Concussion
3 years agoUpdating a previous report, Minnesota Twins shortstop Nick Gordon (head) cleared the concussion protocol on Monday after leaving the Grapefruit League game against the Boston Red Sox on a cart. Gordon suffered a head contusion during a scary collision with outfielder Max Kepler. He has a minor headache and is considered day-to-day. It's good news for the 26-year-old, as he should be able to open the season on the major league roster as a backup infielder. Gordon hit .240/.292/.355 with four home runs, 23 RBI, 19 runs scored and 10 stolen bases in 73 games in his rookie season in 2021, but he'll only be worth drafting in single-year leagues in deep AL-only leagues for middle infield depth.
