Nick Kingham Registers Second Win
7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Nick Kingham picked up his second win of the season over the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday evening. The right-hander didn't flirt with perfection as he did in his big-league debut, but he was good enough for the victory. Kingham allowed four runs on six hits and a walk in 5 1/3 innings and again posted an impressive strikeout total with seven. The rookie was cruising through five one-run innings before hitting a snag in the sixth and surrendering three more, including a home run to Jesus Aguilar. It's hard not to be impressed with Kingham early on, as he now holds a 2.92 ERA and a 16-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio in two outings. He should have at least a couple more starts in the Pirates' rotation before Joe Musgrove (shoulder) returns from the disabled list. Kingham will aim for his third win in as many starts his next time out against the San Francisco Giants on Friday.
