3 years agoCincinnati Reds rookie left-hander Nick Lodolo (back) is penciled in to start Game 1 of a doubleheader on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Lodolo has been on the injured list for a week with a lower back strain, but the 24-year-old southpaw is scheduled to rejoin the Reds this weekend. It's a nice matchup to return to, but the Reds could take a cautious approach with their young left-handed arm, making him somewhat risky. In his first three major league starts, Lodolo has allowed nine earned runs on 18 hits (three home runs) while walking five and striking out 19 in 14 2/3 innings pitched. The Reds haven't announced a starter for Game 2 on Saturday, but Connor Overton is scheduled to go Friday, with Tyler Mahle pitching Sunday against the Bucs.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
