Nick Madrigal Will Rest On Wednesday
4 years agoChicago White Sox second baseman Nick Madrigal will be left off of Wednesday's lineup card versus the Minnesota Twins. Madrigal has been one of the best contact hitters this season, but has found himself in a bit of a slump. Madrigal is hitting .204 with one home run and three RBI over the past two weeks. His recent struggles have lowered his batting average to .276 on the season. Madrigal is an underrated second base option when he hitting. Managers should continue to hang on to Madrigal, but rotate him out until he starts to show signs of life again with his inability to offer power. Utility man Danny Mendick will replace Madrigal on Wednesday and bat ninth versus Matt Shoemaker. Mendick hit a grand slam on Tuesday, but only has three hits over his last 18 at-bats. He should remain on the waiver wire and is a risky option in DFS.
