Nick Margevicius Fires Five Innings Of One-Hit Ball
6 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Nick Margevicius threw five innings of one-run ball in a no-decision Friday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Margevicius surrendered a hit, walk and struck out just one in the brief 54-pitch outing. He likely had more in the tank but was lifted for a pinch hitter in the sixth. The surprising 22-year-old now holds a solid 1.80 ERA and 0.50 WHIP through two starts. His inexperience will limit his fantasy appeal but he could be a deep streamer in his next scheduled outing on Wednesday against the San Francisco Giants. Margevicius pitched five innings of one-run ball in a tough-luck loss against the Giants on March 30.
