6 years agoNBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco has a hunch that even though San Francisco 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard (wrist) has been cleared to play on Thursday against the Raiders, that there's still a good chance that backup Nick Mullens will start. The Niners waived third-stringer Tom Savage on Thursday, but Mullens could still start over the injured Beathard. Those desperate enough to consider starting Beathard in two-QB leagues should be looking for other options. San Fran's pass-catchers would see a downgrade if Mullens is forced to start, even in a good matchup.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
