6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Nick Mullens will start on Thursday night against the Raiders over C.J. Beathard (wrist), according to a source. Beathard will serve as the backup after struggling to grip the football in practice this week. It will be Mullens' first action in a regular season NFL game, so don't expect much from him, even in a good matchup against Oakland's struggling defense. San Fran's receiving options need to be slightly downgraded. The 49ers could elect to lean on their ground game in this one.
