4 years agoMiami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Nick Neidert was optioned to the team's Alternate Training Site on Wednesday. Neidert was excellent in spring training and showed some positive signs in his three starts this season, but was overall struggling, mostly with his control. In 12 innings, he's walked 11 and struck out only eight. Neidert's low-90s fastball means he needs to have pinpoint control to be successful. He'll get some time to work at the ATS and hopefully will have the kind of control he showed in the minors the next time he's on the big league mound.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
