Nick Pivetta Escapes With No-Decision
3 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Nick Pivetta pitched five uneven innings against the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday, allowing five runs, four of which were earned. He gave up seven hits and two walks and struck out eight batters. Pivetta did not have a strong start to this one, but he probably deserved better than his final line, as several Toronto hitters reached base with some good fortune and soft contact, especially in the two-run fifth inning. Pivetta has outperformed expectations this year, and remains a solid fantasy option with his 3.59 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 50 strikeouts in 47 2/3 innings.
