Nick Pivetta Exits In Seventh With No-Hitter
3 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Nick Pivetta had his best start of the season Thursday, exiting after 6 2/3 no-hit innings. He struck out eight batters and only permitted two baserunners via walk. Manager Alex Cora pulled Pivetta after 100 pitches, and unfortunately Pivetta took a no-decision when the Red Sox lost 1-0 on a wild pitch walk-off in the bottom of the ninth inning. Pivetta now has a 4.00 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 94 strikeouts in 81 innings. Fantasy managers should beware the home-run ball, but he's a solid streamer at worst.
