4 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Nick Pivetta had another strong outing on Tuesday, allowing just one run over three innings while striking out three. This follows up his promising debut last week, where his average fastball velocity was two and a half mph higher than it was last year. Pivetta looks to be the front-runner for the fifth spot in the Red Sox's rotation, and while he has struggled in recent years, he is just three years removed from a 32-start season in which he posted a 3.79 FIP.--Daniel Fox
