2 years agoBoston Red Sox right-hander Nick Pivetta left his Friday start against the Texas Rangers with a left calf contusion. Pivetta allowed one run on four hits over three innings while striking out two and walking two before the injury. He suffered the injury while making a play in the field in the third inning and was replaced on the mound by Tyler Danish for the top of the fourth. After Friday's game, the Red Sox should give a clearer indication as to whether Pivetta will be able to make his next scheduled start, which is tentatively set for Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays.--Matt T - RotoBaller
