3 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Nick Pivetta pitched perhaps his best game of the year Sunday, throwing seven innings of shutout ball. He allowed just two hits and two walks to the Oakland Athletics while striking out ten batters. This comes on the heels of a no-hit outing over 6 2/3 innings just two starts prior. Pivetta has slashed plenty of upside this season, and yet his year-long ERA and WHIP are a middling 4.09 and 1.27. He does have 109 strikeouts in 92 1/3 innings and deserves to be on rosters, if not started on a weekly basis.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
