5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Nick Pivetta was hit hard again Wednesday versus the Mets, allowing four runs in 5 2/3 innings. The start could have been worse for Pivetta as he allowed all kinds of traffic on the bases with nine hits allowed and three walks. This is now three straight disappointing outings for the right-hander since his complete game against the Reds on June 8. Pivetta has regressed mightily this season, his 33.1 percent strikeout rate from 2018 has fallen to 20.6 percent this year. His hard contact rate against was 31.8 percent last year, but that number has climbed to over 43 percent this season. All told, the breakout many predicted this year appears to not be happening. Pivetta is a decent streamer with the right matchup but is droppable if you need the roster space.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
