3 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Nick Pivetta couldn't get the job done against the Tampa Bay Rays Monday, allowing four runs on six hits and five walks in five innings while striking out six batters. He took the loss, dropping his record for the year to 9-7. From the start it wasn't Pivetta's day, as his very first pitch of the game went over the fence for a home run. Pivetta's now given up exactly four runs in three consecutive starts, with a grand total of 10 2/3 innings in those outings. With a 4.67 ERA and 1.34 WHIP on the season, Pivetta has proven himself to be an inconsistent fantasy option.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
