3 years agoArizona Coyotes forward Nick Schmaltz produced a spectacular seven-point performance against Ottawa on Saturday, setting a new franchise record for most points scored in a game. It also marks the most points a player has registered in the league since Sam Gagner picked up eight points in 2012. Schmaltz did the damage in an 8-5 win with two goals and five assists. The 26-year-old has hit great form since the start of last month, putting together multiple multi-point performances, which have upped his tally to 33 points in 36 games this season. The Coyotes still struggle to keep the puck out of the net, but they have been able to improve their offense a lot compared to the start of the season and Schmaltz is at the heart of things.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
