6 years agoWashington Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom registered his third goal of the playoffs in Game 2 against the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals battle on Saturday. He also chipped in with an assist and a plus-two rating. He was one of four players for the defending champs to record a multi-point performance, as Evgeny Kuznetsov had two assists and a plus-one, T.J. Oshie had a goal, an assist and a plus-one and Alex Ovechkin had two helpers with a plus-two rating and seven of his team's 34 hits in a very physical game. The series shifts to Raleigh on Monday night for Game 3.--Daniel Dobish
