Nico Hoerner Done For The Year
3 years agoChicago Cubs infielder Nico Hoerner has decided to end his season prematurely, according to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com. He was recently activated from the injured list on September 19 after being sidelined since late July due to a right oblique strain. Across just 44 games this season, he slashed .302/.382/.369 with no home runs and five stolen bases. He should be ready to go well before the beginning of Spring Training next year. With Hoerner out, it will likely give Sergio Alcantara extra playing time at shortstop. Alcantara can be ignored in all leagues, as he's a non-factor with the bat, slashing .198/.297/.314 over 85 games this season.
