Niko Goodrum Hits Game-Winning Homer
6 years agoDetroit Tigers second baseman Niko Goodrum launched his 14th homer of the year on Thursday, a game-winning blast off Dellin Betances in the top of the ninth inning. The homer came on the heels of a two-run shot from Victor Martinez that tied the game and put the cap on a comeback win for the team. Goodrum has been a nice surprise for the Tigers in his rookie campaign with his solid defense and blend of power and speed. His .233 batting average leaves something to be desired, but it's hard to sneeze at 14 homers and 10 steals. Keep an eye on Goodrum in the coming years, as he could develop into a nice fantasy player with eligibility at multiple positions.
