4 years agoMaking her return to the Octagon after 10 months out of action, Nina Nunes (10-7) ran into a roadblock in the submission artist Mackenzie Dern on Saturday. In her first matchup since giving birth in September, Nunes was unable to implement any part of her game plan against the submission specialist. Nunes only reeled off four significant strikes before succumbing to an armbar submission late in the first round. Nunes is still a very talented fighter with UFC wins against fighters such as Claudia Gadelha and Randa Markos. She should rebound nicely against lower top-15-tiered fighters, especially after getting her body back into top-tier fighting shape.--Matt Bricker - RotoBaller
