3 years agoNo new deal was struck between Major League Baseball and the Players Association after their latest meeting on Thursday, and we are now 11 days from the deadline the league set in order to start the regular season on time. The Players Association backed off its request for arbitration for all players with two-plus years of service, requesting instead that 80% of players go into the system. The union also requested an increase in its pre-arbitration bonus pool, going from $100 million to $115 million. The union clearly doesn't think much of MLB's last offer, so the two sides really haven't moved at all since last Saturday. The sides are $100 million apart on the bonus pool for zero to three players instead of $85 million. Hopefully the two sides continue to meet heading into next week.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
