2 years agoThe Houston Astros still don't have a timetable for outfielder Michael Brantley's (shoulder) or catcher Jason Castro's (knee) return with nine games remaining before the All-Star break. Brantley was eligible to come off the injured list last Friday, while Castro went on the IL on July 1 after tweaking his left knee on June 29. Brantley ran in the outfield on Friday but still isn't hitting. Castro will likely need a few extra days to recover after his 10 days on the IL are up. Manager Dusty Baker described Brantley's shoulder as being "slow to respond" and said the team won't rush him back. The 35-year-old was hitting .288 with 26 RBI and a .370 on-base percentage through 243 at-bats before his injury, but at this point, it's unlikely we'll see him until the start of the second half of the season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
