No Urgency To Add WR After James Washington's Injury
2 years agoDallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on Tuesday that "there is no urgency to get a veteran receiver" in the wake of wide receiver James Washington's (foot) injury. Washington broke his foot in training camp practice on Monday and will miss six to 10 weeks as a result. Michael Gallup (knee) is recovering from surgery for a torn ACL earlier this year, and he won't be ready by Week 1, so the Cowboys receiver group is extremely thin heading into the regular season. CeeDee Lamb will be the top option, with rookie Jalen Tolbert now firmly in line for WR2 duties to open the year. Tight end Dallas Schultz should also see all the targets he can handle in the passing attack. Washington should now be avoided in standard-sized leagues, while Tolbert could quickly become a late-round darling.
