Noah Syndergaard Begins Rehab Wednesday
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard (elbow) is starting a rehab assignment with Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. He's missed the past two seasons after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He was in line to return earlier in the year but faced multiple setbacks in his recovery. It's probably too late in the season to stretch him out as a starter, so expect to see Syndergaard in the Mets bullpen. During his last season in 2019, Syndergaard posted a 4.28 ERA, 24.5 K% and 1.23 WHIP. There's no way to know how he'll will perform when he returns, but he's safe to leave on the wire as a reliever.
