2 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard is still believed to be the Philadelphia Phillies' top target at the trade deadline. The Phillies scouted Seattle Mariners left-hander Marco Gonzales' start in New York last night, but there's no sign of apparent traction with the Mariners, according to sources. Syndergaard has been solid in his first season with the Angels, going 5-8 with a 3.83 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a 64:22 K:BB in 80 innings over 15 starts, but he hasn't gotten much run support from the Angels. The 29-year-old right-hander would be a nice addition to the Phillies' staff, and his fantasy value would be on the rise with a better offense backing him.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
