Noah Syndergaard On Schedule To Return In June
4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard (elbow) threw a side session at spring camp on Wednesday. According to manager Luis Rojas, Syndergaard looked "really good" and is on schedule to return sometime in June. Syndergaard missed the entire 2020 season due to Tommy John surgery, following a poor 2019 campaign in which he led the league in earned runs with 94 and posted a career-worst 4.28 ERA. Given his current 328 ADP, Syndergaard is a low-risk, high-reward candidate heading into 2021. Managers who roster Syndergaard on their bench or injured list for first the two-plus months of the season could be rewarded with solid ratios and strikeouts in the second half of the season. Conversely, if Syndergaard suffers a setback or is not fully healthy resulting in poor production, the cost is merely a late-round draft pick.
