6 years agoThe strained ligament in New York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard’s right index finger was never expected to keep him out long, and it seems as though for once the Mets actually got an injury timeline right. Syndergaard has been out since May 25 due to the injury, but it sounds as though he’ll return to the rotation on Sunday at Citi Field against the New York Yankees. If that holds true, he’ll only have missed one full turn through the rotation. It’s not an ideal matchup for Thor’s return, who holds a 3.06 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 76 strikeouts in 64 2/3 innings pitched this season, but you’re certainly starting him in your lineups regardless of matchup.--John Smith
