6 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard (finger) will throw off the mound on Tuesday and if all goes well he will advance to a live batting practice session on Friday. Syndergaard has been out since May 25 due to a strained right index finger. He was originally slated to return from the disabled list on June 10 against the New York Yankees but was scratched from that start after a second opinion due to additional swelling in the finger. Assuming he progresses to batting practice on Friday and that goes well, Syndergaard will make at least one rehab start prior to returning to the Mets rotation. Across 64 2/3 innings pitched this season, Thor owns a 3.06 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 76 strikeouts.--John Smith
