Nolan Gorman Continues To Mash In Triple-A
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals infield prospect Nolan Gorman has refused to cool off and went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run for Triple-A Memphis on Thursday. The slugger homered 11 times in April and has now gone deep twice in the month of May. For season, he is hitting .286 with 13 home runs, 20 RBI and a sparkling 1.008 OPS. Brought up as a third baseman, Gorman has been playing second base with Nolan Arenado going nowhere for the big-league club. With shortstop Paul DeJong recently demoted, it wouldn't be a surprise to second baseman Tommy Edman eventually shift to shortstop with Gorman getting playing time at second base. The universal designated hitter also would allow him to get at-bats at the big-league level. With not much left to prove, it shouldn't be long before Gorman gets his call to the show. Managers in redraft leagues should start to consider stashing the former first-rounder and he should already be rostered in all dynasty leagues.
