3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals infield prospect Nolan Gorman is starting at second base and is batting sixth in the batting order in his major league debut on Friday against Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Zach Thompson. With Tommy Edman sliding over to shortstop, Gorman should operate as the team's primary second baseman for the foreseeable future. The 22-year-old should be picked up in all fantasy formats if he remains on your league's waiver wire. Gorman was hitting .308/.367/.677 with a 1.044 OPS, 15 home runs, four doubles, 23 RBI, 31 runs scored and three stolen bases in 34 games for Triple-A Memphis before his call-up. He doesn't have much left to prove in the minors and could immediately become fantasy relevant in St. Louis, even in shallow mixed leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
