3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Gorman (back) was scratched from the Grapefruit League lineup on Sunday against the New York Mets with lower back tightness. It's unclear how serious Gorman's injury is, but we'll keep a close eye on his status in the coming days. The 21-year-old is ranked by MLB Pipeline as the No. 33 overall prospect entering the 2022 season, and he's competing in camp for a spot on the team's Opening Day roster. If he's in the big leagues this year, he'll likely see most of his playing time at the keystone, with Nolan Arenado entrenched at third base. The left-handed hitter has the potential to be a serious power threat at the next level, although he did hit more ground balls at Triple-A in 2021.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
