Nomar Mazara Sits For Saturday Night Matchup

5 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Nomar Mazara is riding the pine Saturday night versus Astros starter Gerrit Cole. He's 1-for-16 versus Cole with 10 strikeouts and is also in a 4-for-33 funk at the dish. It's a good day for Mazara to clear his head on the sideline after producing a lowly .220/.283/.417 slash line to date. He's slugged six homers on the year after clubbing exactly 20 in three straight campaigns as it's only a matter of time before he rights the ship. Mazara holds a career .256 average and will more likely than not end the year around this mark.
