6 years agoThe Oakland Athletics have signed free-agent veteran pitcher Edwin Jackson to a minor league contract and have assigned him to Triple-A Nashville. The 34-year-old has 16 years of experience and could provide a fill-in option for an A's pitching staff that has been riddled with injuries. Jackson had posted a 3.40 ERA with 47 strikeouts and 22 walks in 55 2/3 innings with the Washington Nationals Triple-A affiliate prior to this signing.
