7 years agoA source familiar with talks said the odds are "55-45" that Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones will be traded before the deadline on Tuesday. The Indians and Phillies both have interest in Jones, and he'd most likely move to right field for either team. The main obstacle might be Jones' 10-and-5 service-time rights, which give him the ability to block a trade to any team. Some observers think he might want an extension or at least assurance that he's part of the plan, and the Orioles have yet to approach Jones about waiving his 10-and-5 rights. Jones is batting a healthy .277/.304/.421 with 10 home runs and 38 RBI this year. A trade to a contender would surely help his counting stats over the final two months of the season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
