Odubel Herrera Lands On IL With Ankle Issue
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Odubel Herrera (ankle) was placed on the 10-day injured list retroactive to July 9. Relief pitcher J.D. Hammer was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Herrera missed three of the last four games with an ankle injury and it makes sense to put him on the IL right before the All-Star break. Herrera has struggled mightily at the plate lately as he's sporting just a .167 on-base percentage since June 2 and was removed from the leadoff role before going down with an injury. Jean Segura has been leading off in Herrera's absence and should be rostered in all fantasy leagues. Hammer is with the Big League club for added bullpen depth and can be ignored in fantasy.
