Odubel Herrera Out Of The Lineup On Tuesday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Odubel Herrera (ankle, wrist) is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Chicago Cubs, Matt Breen of the Philadelphia Enquirer reported. Herrera told reporters he has a sore ankle and sore wrist, and manager Joe Girardi confirmed the outfielder is "a little banged up" but could potentially come off the bench. Herrera has had trouble finding consistency at the plate this season and wasn't faring well batting leadoff for Philadelphia, but he did hit a three-run home run on Monday. Phillies second baseman Jean Segura moves into the leadoff spot in place of Herrera on Tuesday to face Cubs right-hander Jake Arrieta. Segura is batting .325/.380/.429 with one home run on 41 hits against righties this season.
