Optimism That Brian Robinson Can Return This Year

2 years agoWashington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said that doctors are optimistic about rookie running back Brian Robinson's recovery and his return this season. However, it's a fluid situation after Robinson was shot multiple times during a robbery attempt in D.C. on Sunday night. Team officials will talk to doctors later on Monday to get a further update on Robinson's status. It was terrible timing for the 23-year-old, as he was gaining steam as the team's primary early-down back over Antonio Gibson before Sunday night's incident. Washington could place Robinson on the Non-Football Injury list, which would cause him to miss at least the first four games of the season.
