6 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles acquired prospects Evan Phillips, Jean Carlos Encarnacion, Brett Cumberland and Bruce Zimmerman in the deal for pitchers Kevin Gausman and Darren O'Day. Of the bunch, Encarnacion is ranked the highest, sitting 14th among the team's top prospects according to MLB Pipeline. Encarnacion has yet to appear above A-ball, but has hit .293 with 13 home runs, 95 RBI and 16 stolen bases in three minor league seasons. It may be a while before he reaches the majors, but with Baltimore fully embarked in a rebuild, perhaps Encarnacion becomes a contributor somewhere down the line.--Dan Fappiano
