Orioles Select Colton Cowser Fifth Overall In Amateur Draft

3 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles selected college outfielder Colton Cowser fifth overall in the 2021 amateur draft. Known for having a solid bat, he makes above-average contact and has good speed. His ability to hit for power remains in question and Rotoballer had him ranked as the 17th-best prospect available in the draft. Baltimore has a history of seeking players that will sign below-average deals so they can spread the draft money out across multiple players. Once he signs, Cowser will likely slide in as the fifth-best prospect in the Baltimore system.
