4 years agoCleveland Indians outfielder Oscar Mercado looked like a staple of fantasy outfields for years to come during his rookie campaign in 2019. But following Thursday’s contest, his slash line for the 2020 year sat at .123/.172/.173 with two extra-base hits. Mercado had been sent to the club’s alternate training site earlier in the year due to his struggles at the dish, but despite his defensive acumen, he is no longer a fantasy commodity in any-sized format. While there is ample time for Mercado to reclaim his past form, there’s little reason for fantasy managers to be on the hook as he works through his season-long malaise.--Jesse Borek
