4 years agoCleveland Indians outfielder Oscar Mercado has been sent down to the organization’s alternate training site in wake of his rough start to the 2020 season. Having opened the year just 5-for-45, Mercado has accumulated a staggering -22 OPS+ through his first 17 games. He had lost the vast majority of his playing time over the past week and now he’ll have a chance to hit the reset button and attempt to reclaim the 15-homer, 15-steal ability that he displayed last season. Owners in keepers league may opt to hang on to Mercado in hopes of reclaiming his prior form, but all other season-long formats can safely look elsewhere, no matter how significant the pre-season investment.--Jesse Borek
