Oswald Peraza Being Promoted By Yankees

2 years agoThe New York Yankees are promoting shortstop prospect Oswald Peraza from the minor leagues with rosters expanding on Thursday. Per MLB Pipeline, Peraza is the team's No. 3 prospect in their system. The 22-year-old from Venezuela has hit .258/.329/.440 with 18 home runs, 49 RBI, 56 runs scored and 33 stolen bases in 427 plate appearances over 98 games for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season to earn the call-up down the stretch for his major league debut. With Isiah Kiner-Falefa struggling of late, there's a chance that Peraza could steal some playing time away from him at the 6 if he gets off to a hot start in the Bronx.
