P.J. Higgins Will Undergo Tommy John Surgery
3 years agoChicago Cubs catcher P.J. Higgins (forearm) will undergo Tommy John surgery in several weeks, per insider Gordon Wittenmyer. The backup catcher has been out since June 11 with a right forearm strain. Jose Lobaton has been filling in as Willson Contreras' backup since Higgins was stashed on the IL earlier this month. Higgins put up a .163 OPS in 23 at-bats with the Cubs this season.
