Pablo Sandoval To Make Spring Debut Friday As DH
5 years agoSan Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler said that third baseman Pablo Sandoval (elbow) will make his spring training debut Friday night as a designated hitter, per Bay Area News Group's Kerry Crowley. The 33-year-old veteran posted a .268/.313/.507 slash line with 14 home runs and 41 RBI in 296 plate appearances in 2019. While Panda is a fan favorite in San Francisco, his lack of routine playing time limits his fantasy value, and he's expected to get a late start to the year because of his injury. He'll probably wind up being mostly an NL-only asset in 2020.
