Packers, Davante Adams Haven't Discussed Extension
3 years agoThere have been no discussions between the Green Bay Packers and impending free-agent wide receiver Davante Adams on a long-term contract extension since the season ended, according to a source. The Packers have until March 8 to decide whether to place the franchise tag on Adams, which would buy them more time to get an extension done by this summer. If quarterback Aaron Rodgers ends up leaving this offseason, the Packers could look to tag and trade Adams to avoid the risk of letting him get to free agency and walking away with no compensation. The 29-year-old has been one of the best receivers in the game since 2017, earning five straight Pro Bowl nods, including first-team All-Pro selections in each of the last two years. However, his fantasy value in 2022 will be largely tied to Rodgers' fate.
