Packers Defense Bombarded By Eagles Offensive Attack
5 years agoThe Green Bay Packers’ defense took its first big blow of the season during Thursday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. While the secondary limited quarterback Carson Wentz to just 160 passing yards through the air, Philly’s backfield combined for 176 yards on the ground. After yielding just 35 points combined over the first three weeks of the season, reality crashed down around Green Bay in their match-up with a highly skilled offense, unable to force a turnover. They’ll draw a difficult match-up next week when they meet the high-powered Cowboys offensive unit, but Green Bay will get a modicum of additional rest. It’s tough to see value in rostering the Packers’ defensive group for what should be high-scoring bout.
