Packers Hire Tom Clements As Quarterbacks Coach
3 years agoThe Green Bay Packers hired Tom Clements as their new quarterbacks coach on Thursday. Clements has long been credited for quarterback Aaron Rodgers' development early in his career, and he's coming out of retirement to work with Rodgers again, if he stays in Green Bay. A source said Clements' arrival doesn't guarantee that the 2021 MVP will return to the team, but they are obviously trying to convince Rodgers to stay. Clements was with the Packers from 2006-16 and most recently coached the Arizona Cardinals QBs but retired after the 2020 season. The 68-year-old was one of Rodgers' first position coaches, joining the team in his second season, so the two have some familiarity. Clements will replace Luke Getsy, who was hired as the Chicago Bears offensive coordinator.
