Packers Not Ready To Move On From Mason Crosby?
3 years agoGreen Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst didn't sound ready to move on from veteran kicker Mason Crosby during his press conference this week. Crosby has a 2022 salary cap number around $4.7 million, and the Packers would free up around $2.4 million by cutting him. He hasn't missed a game since the team drafted him in 2007, but Crosby missed an NFL-high nine kicks among kickers who attempted at least one field goal per game in 2021. He also had a kick blocked in the Divisional Round loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Green Bay recently signed Dominik Eberle, and they also have J.J. Molson on the roster, so Crosby will need to perform if he remains with the team to keep the starting gig.
