Packers Optimistic About David Bakhtiari
3 years agoGreen Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said he is optimistic about the health of All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari (knee). "Long term, we feel really good about him as our left tackle," Gutekunst said. The 30-year-old played in just one game in 2021 while trying to work his way back from a torn ACL that he suffered the previous season. Bakhtiari had another surgery in November to address cartilage damage in his knee, but it sounds as though the Packers expect him to be 100% for the start of the 2022 season this fall. The bigger question, though, will be whether Bakhtiari will be protecting quarterback Aaron Rodgers or Trey Lance next year. Bakhtiari is a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time first-team All-Pro, so the team's offensive line will receive a big boost when he returns.
